The essay deals with a quite old and irritating issue of The Rus’. Generally, these are Vikings, Scandinavians; with the word Rus’ coming from Finnish Ruotsi, that is ‘rowers’. Therefore, the research places the emphasis actually on rowing, on the rhythm, which has to be firmly maintained. In contrast to a historical research, the study appeals to the common experience and makes an attempt of interpreting it in historical plane; this is carried out in terms of the modern philosophy; notably the concepts of ‘the social machine’ (Deleuze and Guattari) and ‘micro-physics of power’ (Foucault). It is from here on that the mighty ‘will to power’ and the ancient state of Rus’ could have originated from.

Keywords: The Rus’, Ruotsi, rhythm, ‘the social machine’ (Deleuze and Guattari), ‘micro-physics of power’ (Foucault)
