The times of the pandemic have reminded us once again that we live in a global risk society, with its hybrid global-local social order. This metaphor of U. Beck points to the systemic nature of risks that are inherent in all spheres of life and are constantly changing under the influence of new technologies, economic innovations, political crises, changes in value and semantic configurations, the consequences of human and non-human actors. At the end of September, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine hosted a round table (in virtual mode) on conceptual and operational approaches to studying the risks of destabilizing public life in Ukrainian society. Participants' attention was focused on socio-structural, socio-psychological, socio-cultural dimensions of social processes, as well as on the importance of developing of practical recommendations for risk management based on the results of sociological analysis.
