The journal
Sociology: Theory, Methods, Marketing adheres to the principles of academic integrity and transparency in the use of digital technologies in the preparation and peer review of scholarly publications, including the
Recommendations on the Use of AI in Scholarly Communication developed by the European Association of Science Editors (EASE).
Authors may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools or machine-learning technologies only as supportive instruments for language editing, improving readability, or the technical preparation of manuscripts.
The use of such tools is permitted only if authors retain full responsibility for the content of the manuscript, including the accuracy of facts, data, and references, as well as compliance with the principles of academic integrity. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of a publication, as they do not meet the criteria for authorship and cannot assume responsibility for the content of the work.
If AI tools are used during the preparation of the manuscript, authors must disclose this use in an appropriate section of the article (for example, in the “Acknowledgements,” “Methods,” or in a separate author statement), specifying the name of the tool and the nature of its use.
The editorial office reserves the right to use appropriate software to screen submitted manuscripts for plagiarism, automatically generated content, or other violations of academic integrity.
