The article explores the legacy of Iryna Bekeshkina, the legendary Ukrainian sociologist who charismatically combined academic work, opinion journalism, and civic activism. Her credo, “As long as we are alive, nothing is final,” became the title of the book “Iryna Bekeshkina: ‘As long as we are alive...’”, which is discussed in this piece. Her articles and interviews offer a way to study the dramatic history of independent Ukraine and its society.
