The discussion, which took place on November 28, 2024, was dedicated to discussing the concept of "slow science" in the context of the work of Ukrainian researchers, in particular during the war.

The discussion was attended by representatives of the Ukrainian research network UNET (Ukraine Research Network) and Das Zentrum für Osteuropa — und internationale Studien (ZOiS, Berlin), supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany.

During the meeting, the problems of different paces of scientific activity were considered: "fast" science, which responds to current demands, and "slow" one, which focuses on long-term processes and thorough research. At the same time, they also discussed alternative formats for publishing scientific results and the need to develop new indicators for evaluating scientific work and supporting the development of the Ukrainian scientific community.
