Abstract. The logic of traditional conceptual arguments on the subject of civil society formation reveals its limitations and expresses and a lack of knowledge about the nature and features of civic activity in transitional societies. To clarify theoretical, methodological and applied aspects of civil society studies we had started a research "The Laws of Formation and Sociological Measures of Civil Society in Ukraine", which continues previous studies of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine. On May 24, 2019, a round-table was held in the conference hall of the Institute of Sociology, where responsible executors of the above-mentioned research work presented current results of their research within its framework. We make public the speeches of the participants of this roundtable.
