Despite more than 12 years of diverse and significant experience of national gender measurements in Ukraine, a national system of gender indicators suitable for assessing the state of women's rights and gender equality has not yet been established.

In order to clarify the situation in the field of providing national gender policy in Ukraine with valid data, in 2019 the Kyiv Institute of Gender Studies launched a series of research steps to analyze national initiatives and approaches to gender measurement that have been practiced in Ukraine in recent years. These studies were conducted as part of the KIGS project "Women's Rights Monitoring Initiative", implemented with the support of Switzerland.

On September 7, 2021, a national meeting was held, at which the main national players in the field of gender measurement shared their practice and presented their results: An automated system of municipal statistics was developed; Measuring the situation of equality between women and men through their access to social services in local communities; The Internet portal of strategic information on gender equality that is being created; and, finally, the CEDAW Monitoring Tool, which was presented by the organizers of the meeting from the Kyiv Institute of Gender Studies as a result of their two years of work.

The event was attended by the Government Commissioner for Gender Equality Policy of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and representatives of the national equality bodies - the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the National Social Service of Ukraine.

We publish the speeches of the participants of this discussion to the public.
