Abstract. The article is timed to coincide with the state certification of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine over the past five years. The author offers a brief overview of directions and work of the Department of History and Theory of Sociology of the Institute of Sociology of the NAS of Ukraine; characterizes the channels for presenting research results of the department to the scientific community, public authorities, customers, educational institutions and media.
