Abstract. This is a report of an academic conference (known as the International Sociological Readings) that the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine held on 10 December 2018 in memory of two prominent figures in the field of philosophy and social sciences, who are recognised and respected in Ukraine and far beyond — Myroslav Popovich (1930–2018) and Natalia Panina (1949–2006). The paper also presents the results of the contest “Junior Sociologist of the Year 2018”.
